About Me

I grew up in Virginia; my wife and I moved to Los Angeles in 2003 after a couple of stops in the midwest. My undergrad degree was from George Mason in Fairfax, VA where I majored in English/Creative writing. Before I started library school, I had no library experience, but I am now a library assistant in technical services with the L.A. County library. I would like to move into public service and eventually into management. I am very interested in how libraries can use (and mis-use) emerging technologies.

I briefly made a name for myself in the blogosphere with a blog about comic strips called the Silent Penultimate Panel Watch (penultimate-panel.blogspot.com). I received a few mentions in some newspaper articles and prominent blogs and a few nasty emails from insulted cartoonists. I've since sort of abandoned it due to lack of time and running out of funny things to say about comic strips, but it was fun while it lasted.
