Exercise 5: Due March 11

This exercise will give you the opportunity to contribute to a wiki community.

1. Add content to a thriving wiki community. Think of a topic that you know something about and find a wiki community to contribute to. Possible communities include:

1. Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki

2. Library Instruction Wiki

3. Wikipedia

4. LISWiki

5. Memory Alpha

6. Muppet Wiki

2. Create an account on the wiki, even if there isn't a requirement to create an account.

3. Make your edits to the wiki. The change doesn't have to be large as long as it really improves the entry you are adding to. A single grammatical change is not enough, but adding resources to a bibliography on a subject is.

4. See if the article you've added to is changed afterwards (this is quite likely on the Wikipedia and less likely on the others).

5. In our class wiki, there will be a page marked Exercise 5. On that page, add your name, a link to the page you edited and your username on the wiki.
