TeacherTube is a video hosting site devoted to sharing instructional videos,  similar to Youtube’s function and layout.   The site is safe for classroom use as well as for home learners.  TeacherTubes has thousand of videos mostly educationally focused made by students all over the world covering variety of topics from Math tutorials, classroom demonstrations, students projects to painting instructions. 

 

          Many educators believe that instructional videos can be an effective method of instruction helping students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter,  and  encourage active learning behavior.  For example,  Mr Duey - Fractions Official Video performance, because its rap many kids today can relate  providing a much more user-friendly approach to learning.

It is great that people are taking this, and in true social software/2.0 fashion, trying to make the world a better place. This is just wicked cool, as we say in Boston.

Thanks for sharing this Ethel! This is a very nice website! I already shared it with a couple of people.  I also got hooked on Mr. Duey's fraction video.

This is a great educational video site. Many parents can appreciate this type of web site. They can let their children view videos on this site without worrying about disturbing images.

I love this site.  Not only is this a great resource for finding instructional videos for their students but also for professional development.  Here are a couple of videos we've used as part of our PDs: Did You Know? 2.0 & Web 2.0 Explained.  These videos are actually on You Tube, but YT is blocked by the network firewall.
