Amanda Etches-Johnson

Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm an academic librarian, blogger, and all-around tech geek. I live in Toronto, Ontario with the mister and two pretty cool cats. I am the User Experience Librarian at McMaster University Library, which means that I spend most of my time thinking about, testing, and implementing technologies to make our users’ online experience better. It’s a pretty awesome gig!

I'm the author of blogwithoutalibrary.net where I gab a lot about libraries and emerging technologies, social software, web design, and the user experience. I set up the Blogging Libraries Wiki to collect links to library blogs -- something I started doing a few years ago as a companion to a book chapter I was writing at the time.

Last year I taught an LIS course on the topic of social software & libraries, check out the course blog & accompanying pages if you'd like to explore the stuff we covered. It was a fantastic experience, I hope to do it again soon!
